Anna Rizatdinova wins Miss Valentines World Cup
Last Saturday Anna Rizatdinova (Ukraine) masterfully won Miss Valentine All Around Competition in Tartu (Estonia) with the final score 69,282.
Her performances on all four apparatus, Hoop, Ball, Clubs and Ribbon, were so strong that she easily left behind her 19 year old competitors. 2010 World Bronze medalist Melitina Staniouta of from Belarus finished second with a 64.531 total, outscoring Azerbaijan’s first year senior Marina Durunda, who took the Bronze (63.132).
Staniuta, the leader of the Belarusian national team after the retirement of 2012 London Olympic Bronze medalist Liubov Cherkashina also showed great results on all apparatus on Sunday to take the title in the Ball (17.316 points), Clubs (17.316) and Ribbon (17.450) finals.
Rizatdinova added three Silver medals to her record (Ball 17.116, Clubs 17.216, Ribbon 17.316) while Durunda settled for Bronze in the Ball (16.700), Clubs (15.833) and Ribbon (16.766) finals.
The host country’s Viktoria Bogdanova (18) finished tenth in the All-around (56.398) and eighth in the final on Hoop (15.050).
Next FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup series will be held on April 3 – 6 in Lisbon (POR).
